The Pensacola Food Stamp Office, part of the Florida Department of Children and Families, provides food assistance to low-income individuals and families in Escambia County, Florida. The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), formerly known as food stamps, helps people buy the food they need to stay healthy.
SNAP benefits are distributed electronically through an Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card that can be used at authorized grocery stores and farmers markets. The amount of benefits a household receives is based on its income and household size. To be eligible for SNAP, households must meet certain income and asset limits.
